Stitchin in the southwest

It's hot here in the southwestern part of the US. We unloaded this morning and no reload yet, so I'm working on some stitchin I brought along. I thought I'd post some of the pics I took on the way here. I captured a few from New Mexico, west of Albuquerque and then on in to Arizona.

The tall cactus we always call the Minute Men, like soldiers before you get into Phoenix. It was a good trip here, now just wait for a load back in the direction of home.

A Big Thanks

Our trip didn't set sail very smoothly. On our way to work last Friday the battery light in the car came on, then went off, then came back on. Hubby being a mechanic wasn't too concerned, then the lights on the dash started to dim, hmmmmm, the alternator. Well, we'll have to fix it when we get back. Stopped at the store and shut off the car and couldn't get out, LOL! Electric locks, battery low, not good. To make a long story short, we got out, had to call big brother, came to our rescue, left the car at the shop and he took us to work.

Soooooooooo, A BIG THANK YOU to BIL (you know which one you are)! We called and got him out of bed and he came to pick us up and all MY things, lol. Hubby only had 2 little bags. Well, I had cleaned my truck out!! So I had all these things, of which he'll not let me forget anytime soon. Took us 60 miles one way to work, with a pup stop on the way. Well, the "Girls" had to go. Then gets us to work and my truck isn't back from the shop yet, LOL. Had to wait 45 minutes for it to get there so we could unload ALL my things, ROFL! Thank goodness for big brothers!

Until later.....................

The Backyard

I've decorated the inside for the fall season, now I need to get the outside ready as well. I don't usually put a lot of things out side, but I do like to get a few pumpkins and gourds. So I cleaned up the flowers that were looking weary and raked a few leaves. We have huge trees in the backyard and I really like em, except in the fall. There are so many leaves!! And of course they tend to gather around the house, lol. Now I need to make a trip to the pumpkin patch up on top of the hill for the fun stuff. I took pics of what it looks like before the deco, and will try to get pics of the after too. I've washed some windows and dusted some corners, the usual fall inside duties. Have a few more things to finish up. But, I seriously thought about leaving a couple of those cobwebs for the added decorating, LOL.

My Halloween Tree

In getting in the spirit of the season, maybe a little early but I like to enjoy my prims as long as possible, I put out my halloween tree. And a few other little goodies I came across. I made the wool felt ornies and you might be able to tell the witches hat is not quite finished, but I wanted to include it anyway.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, for what reason I don't really know. I think it might be the colors, blacks, golds, oranges, tans, I love all those colors in many combinations. They are some of my favorites to work with when making my locker hooked rugs and small quilted bags. I think maybe its that they are so prim.

Some of my Favorite things about Fall:

1. The colors

2. Pumpkins, gourds and fall flowers

3. Warm days and cool nights

4. Wiener roasts and toasted marshmallows

5. Warm fuzzy sweatshirts

These are just a few of my favorite fall things.

Enjoy!

My "New" Blog Topper

THANK YOU to my friend PammyJo for my "NEW" blog topper. I think it's awesome and SHE ROCKS!!!!!!!

Take me to the Beach

I LOVE the Beach. It was a nice day to go to the beach and I could have stayed all day and into the evening. I like the beaches in California they are so wide and go on for a long way. The beaches in Hawaii are not as wide or as long, but I prefer the beaches in Hawaii. Anyway it was a nice break in the trip to get to go. And I wanted to share the pics.

I also took a couple of pics of "The Girls". After returning home and getting a much needed bath, they again are pretty girls, lol.

What a Week!

Wow, it's been a week since I've posted! Well, it's been a whirlwind of a week. We were to head to California with 2 loads and that was changed to 1 load and minimum amout of time to get it there. So that meant we had to Team it! Now we used to team but haven't done that for years. We made it! That's all I can say. LOL!

After arriving and unloading, we had to wait until Friday to reload. But that was ok, we needed to catch uop on some sleep. The school where we unloaded let us stay in the fenced in parking lot for the night. There's not many truck stops in La, imagine that. We walked a couple of blocks and found an ice cream and burger place for a bite to eat. It was fun to watch the different people.

Then later in the afternoon we walked about a mile to the Santa Monica beach. The beaches there are wide. Not many people there when we arrived, we walked a little, got a cold drink and sat for a while enjoying the sun. The two sodas only cost $7.00, lol. then a nice walk back uphill to the truck. A peaceful nights sleep and then off to reload. No problems, so we were on our way.

We stopped in Vegas for the night, hubby was going to go to the race track as the Nascar Truck races were to be Saturday evening, but a friend from Hawaii was in Vegas at his sisters so he came out to visit. Nice to see friends!

We made our way home, and are glad to be here if only for a short time. I did get some pics of the beach and I'll post as soon as I catch up on some much needed sleep.

Until later.............Prim Blessings

Rain, Rain, Rain

Rain..............that's all it's done is rain for 2 days! Today was our Company Picnic and it rained. Thank goodness it was in the Company Warehouse. Lots of good food, drawings and fun and games for the kids. A few small towns on the way there were having flash floods and the small creeks were gushing with water, water that has no where to go. Ditches were full and it was running over the road in a few places. But we had a good time. Glad to be back in our dry home, lol.

We should not complain about our rain, it's nothing compared to what the people in Texas have had to endure.

No pics to post today, although a great one was taken at the picnic. If I get it emailed to me I'll share with you, so you can have a good laugh.

Until later...................Prim Blessings

Fall Decorating and "The Girls"

I did a little decorating today. As I said before I LOVE fall, I just don't like that winter is not far behind. I'm not a cold weather person. Oh well, I'll enjoy the weather as it is and not think about what's ahead.

I did take a few pics of my fall prims and the locker hooked rug I'm working on. And a New pic of the girls.

Thanks for looking.

Fall into Creating

It's a Great day to bring out the fall decorations!! Back home and going to be here for a couple of days. The weather is cool and drizzle, the perfect day to get the inside ready for fall too. I am bringing out some of my fall prims, and trying not to bring out the Halloween just yet. But Halloween is my favorite holiday. My BIL even says I ride a broom!!! I LOVE getting out all the fall things.

I'm working on a locker hooked rug. I'll post a pic later today, forgot to take one before I did this post. And I also make locker hooked candle mats, I need to get a few more of these made, love them in the fall colors. And they work up quick and fast and are very portable.

I always get creative when I start into the fall mode. So I keep a pad and pencil handy to jot down my ideas. I seem to have my best creative thoughts when decorating.

Until later..................Prim blessings

A New Week

After last week in Los Angeles, and ending in Minnesota, we had a couple of days to relax. Well, sort of. Thursday was rainy and cool, a definate sign fall is on the way. I'm not ready, well, I am just not for the cooler weather. Anyway, my Sister-in-law and I went shopping. Me with my hood and she with her umbrella, lol. She was kind enough to share it with me, until it did the upside down Mary Poppins thing! Omg, what a hoot. We had fun though, we don't get to shop together much anymore. Oh, and my package came, so Thank you to BIL for accepting that for me and NOT opening it.

Ok, then Friday. We had to do the renew the Drivers License thingy. Not bad just a vision test, and the picture wasn't too bad either. Back home to relax, do laundry, give the girls a bath, all that fun stuff. Cooked out for supper and packed to leave on Saaturday.

So now a new week, On our way to Denver and then who knows where.

Just wanted to post a quick note. More later.

Until then............Prim Blessings

It Really was "Nun" of my Business

But I had to ask. You know somedays you think I've seen it all, and then you really haven't.

Burns, Wyoming, just east of Cheyenne, we had stopped for fuel and a bite to eat. As we were walking in to the building I saw a Nun walking out to a truck. I said "wonder what she's doing". We did our normal routine, got a bite to eat, our fuel tickets and walked out the door. I looked over at the fuel isles and there she was getting in a truck!!! I said "surely she's not driving that truck", I have to talk to her. And I did. Yes indeed she was driving the truck, Sister Marie, her fuel rewards card even said Sister Marie. Not just one Nun but two, the other one was along to keep her company. They were from a poor part of Chicago and building a Church, with not a lot of funds for what they need, and the congregation not able to support the church fully they have had to do what has to be done. They can't afford to have the materials brought in to them so they are going after them theirselves. They got a load, pulling a flatbed no less, in Wisconsin, strapped and tarped it by them selves in their habits and were heading west to get a load of lumber for the roof of the church. This will help pay for fuel to bring the lumber back. I forgot to ask where they were going to get the lumber, but most likely Washington state of Oregon. And Sister Marie said this was her first time coming west and she had some concerns about the mountains she had to go over. This was not her first time driving a truck, she's been to Texas and Florida and has been driving , or had her license for 2 years.

Now, I did ask to take their picture, but she said no and told me why and then also said I would have to have permission from the Mother Superior first. I respected their reasons why and totally understood them, but she also said no one will beleive I know, LOL.

I wished them a safe trip and blessings on their way. I'm still in shock and so wished I had been going the other way that day. I would love to know how they are doing! And I hope I run into her again someday.

I guess you really never have seen it all, there's always something new around the next corner!

I've more to tell, but later.

Until then...................Pink Prim Blessings!

And, Sister Marie, I know she'll never see this but, God Bless.
